Over the past four years we have managed to secure the use of Peartree Green Nature Reserve to deliver a true Forest School experience for the community. Our provision aims to offer a forest school curriculum that links with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) to truly develop the hearts and minds of our young learners.

We are working closely with the Friends of Peartree Green Voluntary Group and the Itchen Residents Association to ensure that everything we do enhances our community and the Nature Reserve and is in accordance with the Management plan for the site which is overseen by the Southampton City Council Ranger Services.

As visitors to the reserve may have noticed, we have been working hard to create an interesting and safe environment for our learners to explore. So far the children have enjoyed participating in the creation of the space by litter picking, building bug hotels and bird boxes. They have fully engaged in exploring the nature reserve during nature walks and bug hunting sessions.

So let our journey continue ........
